The Children’s Advocacy Center of Hidalgo and Starr Counties was established in 2000 when a local two year old’s life ended tragically as a result of abuse.

Child abuse does not stop during a pandemic, but neither do we. Each day our staff and partners leave their families to respond to victims of child abuse and their nonoffending family members.

1,878 Child Abuse Victims received services in FY2020

Child sexual abuse is preventable, not inevitable, and it is up to all of us to make sure children grow up free from sexual abuse. 94% of child abuse victims know their alleged perpetrator. Through evidence-based prevention, awareness, and education strategies, we can help more people understand the dynamics of sexual abuse and know what steps to take to protect the children in their lives.

We believe that no child should ever be subjected to the pain of abuse or the lasting emotional trauma it leaves behind.

Be a part of the solution by helping us change lives. By supporting Vinos, you will help give HOPE, HEALING and JUSTICE to victims of child abuse. Together, we can make a positive impact in our community by helping children and families devastated by abuse.
