The Children’s Advocacy Center of Hidalgo and Starr Counties was established in 2000 when a local two year old’s life ended tragically as a result of abuse. Child abuse and neglect is not an isolated occurrence.
• 1 in 10 children will be sexually abused before their 18th birthday.
• 2173 Child Abuse Victims received services in FY 2022.
• 94% of Child Abuse Victims know their alleged perpetrator.
We believe that no child should ever be subjected to the pain of abuse or the lasting emotional trauma it leaves behind.
