The Children’s Advocacy Center of Hidalgo and Starr Counties was founded in 2000 in response to the death of a two-year-old child due to abuse.
The issues of abuse and neglect are significant and prevalent.
1 in 10 children will be sexually abused by their 18th birthday.
2093 child abuse victims received services in our centers in fiscal year 2024.
94% of child abuse victims know their alleged perpetrator.
