Sexual abuse shows no mercy. It prays on the innocence of boys and girls alike, filling them with grief, depression, and fear. ” – Eduardo

It’s a bittersweet moment for The Children’s Advocacy Center as we approach our 20 year milestone. Each child and every family we have helped over the last 20 years has touched and forever changed us as well. At the same time, we remain steadfast and focused. Child abuse continues to be a growing problem in the Rio Grande Valley, especially as so many in our community continue to spend large amounts of time sheltered at home. Our “frontline” staff have continued throughout the pandemic providing critical services to victims and their families.

Writing More Stories of Hope

“As this dark chapter ends, another one begins, and I plan to take the pen for myself and write my own story. No monsters this time.”  – Eduardo

At Children’s Advocacy Center of Hidalgo and Starr Counties, we continue to dedicate each day to helping the children in our community turn the page and reclaim their light. We’ve grown in locations, services, and focus over the last 20 years thanks to the support of so many generous donors, volunteers, and the local medical, law enforcement, and legal community.

Together we can shape the future for generations to come by saving lives and reminding every child and family member of their worth.
