Building a Better Tomorrow: The 7th Annual Joining Forces Conference
The primary objective of this event is to equip multidisciplinary team members in our community with the necessary knowledge and tools to create a lasting positive impact on the well-being of children and families. By attending the Joining Forces Conference, professionals in the field will gain valuable insights into the latest strategies and approaches to enhance protective factors and strengthen families. This knowledge will enable attendees to better serve and support the families in our community who are in need.
Through collaborative and shared learning, we aim to empower our multidisciplinary teams to address the unique challenges surrounding crimes against children and work towards building a brighter and safer future for families in Hidalgo and Starr Counties.
Attendees of the conference will also have the chance to earn Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCLO) and Continuing Education Units (CEU) hours, ensuring professional growth and recognition for their participation.
How We Work To Join Forces to Combat Child Abuse at CACHSC
One of the key concepts at the heart of the Joining Forces Conference is a cooperation between various organizations and agencies to better combat the issue of child abuse in the Rio Grande Valley. Before these groups coordinated their efforts, it was much more difficult to adequately address individual cases of abuse. Now, there are two services that CACHSC provides to help bridge that gap and improve community response to abuse:
CACHSC Joint-Investigation Coordination
Joint-Investigation Coordination is one of the essential services that CACHSC provides to the children who enter our care. Through this approach, we bring together the work and information gathered by a variety of powerful groups, including law enforcement, to meet abuse via a coordinated front.
The CACHSC Multi-Disciplinary Approach to Case Reviews
At CACHSC, we use a multi-disciplinary approach to addressing abuse cases. During this process, each case is carefully reviewed by a team of professionals working together to investigate points of concern. This team can be made up of law enforcement officers, attorneys, social workers, and medical professionals for both physical and mental health.
