The Children’s Advocacy Center of Hidalgo and Starr Counties (CACHS) celebrates Giving Tuesday with our Kick-off #UNSELFIE Campaign where we challenge others to give, share, and encourage giving back locally. Join millions around the world participating in the generosity movement on December 1, 2020!

This Giving Tuesday, we here at CACHS want to inspire generosity by challenging people on our social media to be #unselfie in however they wish to donate. Every Tuesday going forward, we will continue highlighting CAC donors and donations throughout the year.

Make every Tuesday a GivingTuesday whether you choose to donate, volunteer your time, or spread awareness about child abuse in order to make a positive impact in the lives of children.

About GivingTuesday

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement, unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. GivingTuesday will kick off the generosity season this year by inspiring people to give back on December 1, 2020 and throughout the year.

GivingTuesday was launched in 2012 as a simple idea: to come up with a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past nine years, the idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

People demonstrate generosity in various ways on GivingTuesday. Whether it’s helping a neighbor or total stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving to causes we care about, every single act of generosity and kindness counts.

GivingTuesday has raised billions of dollars for critical causes around the world. It is a movement that has garnered over 21 billion impressions on social media from individuals and organizations speaking up for the causes that matter to them and encouraging others to get involved in their communities.

“GivingTuesday inspires people all over the world to embrace the power to drive progress around the causes they care about, not just on one day but throughout the year,” said Asha Curran, GivingTuesday’s CEO and co-founder. “With country and community leaders, millions of organizations, and countless givers of all kinds, GivingTuesday is creating a shared space where we can see the radical implications of a more generous world.”

Other Ways to Give Back

Our organization joined GivingTuesday as another initiative to help support our mission in healing countless victims of child abuse. However, this is only one of the many ways our passionate community can give back to help child abuse victims.

We’ve experienced past success with our annual event Artists for Hope, Healing, and Justice, but due to the pandemic, we’ve taken this event online. This exciting collection of original art is created by local artists in our community in support of local victims of child sexual abuse. It’s a powerful expression of hope, healing, and justice.

The artwork was not just made possible by our talented local artists, but also Hinovations Art Gallery. Every piece of artwork is available for purchase, and the proceeds will go toward providing crucial services for child abuse victims in Hidalgo and Starr Counties.

Every dollar makes a difference, and we welcome any and all non-art purchase donations.

Make every Tuesday a GivingTuesday by supporting our efforts to save the lives of children with your much-needed contributions!
